Power and Gas
The business is active across North America, Europe and Japan, trading financial and physical products both on exchange and OTC, including power, gas, LNG, environmental credits and weather derivatives. Sophisticated analytical modelling is used to assess market fundamentals, coupled with an integrated meteorological expertise to identify mis-priced commodities.
The power business combines a successful global financial trading operation with a US based congestion business that is active on most Independent System Operators (ISOs).
Macro Commodities
Our macro commodities team operates at the intersection of macroeconomic trends and fundamental commodity market dynamics, deploying a diversified, high-conviction portfolio across a broad spectrum of markets. The desk trades crude oil, refined products, wet freight, ferrous metals, base metals, and precious metals, capturing opportunities across supply chains and regions.
The desk synthesises macroeconomic signals, geopolitical developments, and sector-specific fundamentals to identify opportunities and structural trends by leveraging Engelhart’s advanced data infrastructure, proprietary analytics, and deep industry expertise.
With a dynamic and risk-aware trading strategy, the desk actively engages in relative value trading, directional positioning, and arbitrage opportunities across futures, swaps, and options.
Agriculture: Grains and Oilseeds / Softs
We trade a range of financial agriculture products across the Grains & Oilseeds and Softs complex. Our activity in the markets helps producers and consumers hedge their market price risks, while also allowing for improved market liquidity and better price discovery. Our market participation is based on a deep analysis and modelling of market dynamics, which also integrates with our cutting edge approaches such as geospatial engineering and weather forecast interpretation.
Freight
Our freight business provides long-term solutions and freight market insights to our clients, as well as our various commodity trading desks. The desk manages a fleet of time-chartered vessels and is active in trading and managing risk through the freight futures markets.
