Huw Jenkins

Chief Executive Officer

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Engelhart since its inception in 2016, Huw also holds the positions of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banco BTG Pactual and BTG Pactual Participations.

With over 35 years of investment banking experience, and roles at companies including UBS, BZW, Hill Samuel and HSBC, Huw brings a wealth of experience to his leadership. 

Following a successful career spanning 12 years at UBS, which saw him become Chairman and CEO of UBS Investment Bank, Huw left UBS in 2008, and joined BTG Pactual. 

Huw has a BA (Hons) in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Liverpool, which was followed by an MBA from London Business School.

John Redpath

Deputy Chief Executive Officer

John is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Engelhart. John brings over 35 years of commodity trading experience to Engelhart, having previously run several international commodity trading desks.

John was a founding partner of Trailstone in 2013, a global energy trading and renewable services company. Initially serving as the Global Head of Oil and Agriculture Trading, he was appointed CEO of Trailstone in 2017.

Prior to Trailstone, John held the position of Global Head of Oil and Agriculture Trading at Deutsche Bank from 2007 to 2013, and before that, he was the Global Head of Oil, Metals, and Agriculture Trading at Citibank from 2002 to 2007.

John earned a BA in International Relations from the University of Minnesota and completed two years of post-graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University in 1988.

Ricardo-Froes

Ricardo Froes

Chief Financial Officer

Ricardo has over 20 years of experience in finance. 

Prior to joining Engelhart as CFO, Ricardo joined BTG Pactual in 2012, where his principal responsibility was the management of the private equity and infrastructure fund portfolios.

Before BTG, Ricardo served as CFO at TAM Linhas Aereas S.A. (Brazil’s largest airline company). He has also served as the CFO and Director of Investor Relations of CCR S.A., a Brazilian infrastructure company.

Ricardo has a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and an MBA in Finance from IBMEC (Brazilian Capital Market Institute).

Caroline Walker

Chief People Officer

Caroline joined Engelhart following its acquisition of Trailstone in August 2024. Caroline is an accomplished leader with demonstrated skill for developing and leading high calibre People teams that support business strategy.

Prior to Trailstone Caroline spent 16 years at J.P. Morgan where she was a Managing Director and Global HR Business Partner for Markets and Investor Services Operations. She also led the Diversity and Inclusion efforts for the EMEA region, and was ultimately Head of Talent and Diversity and Inclusion for Global Technology.

Caroline graduated in 2001 with an MA (Hons) Psychology from Edinburgh University and began her career working on a research project with the UK Ministry of Defence that involved developing and rolling out a model for the early identification of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Namesh Hansjee

Head of Trading

Namesh brings over 30 years of commodity trading experience to Engelhart, having worked in both commodity producers and financial institutions, principally in energy markets. 

He started his career in the oil markets with Shell and J.P. Morgan; in 1999, he became a founding team member of EDF Trading, the wholesale markets arm of Électricité de France, where he rose to become Head of Trading, serving in that role for 8 years. 

Prior to returning to London and joining Engelhart in 2023, Namesh was Head of Trading at Rio Tinto in Singapore.

Ante Pogacic

Head of Renewables, EU Power and Gas

Ante joined Engelhart following its acquisition of Trailstone in August 2024, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in commodity trading with a focus on the European Power and Gas markets. Throughout his career he has held leadership roles in both utilities and financial institutions.

Ante was a founding partner of Trailstone in 2013, serving as Global Head of Power and Renewables. Before Trailstone, he held the position of European Head of Power and Gas Sales and Origination at Deutsche Bank from 2009 to 2013, and prior to that, he was the European Head of Power Trading and Origination at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2007 to 2009.

Earlier in his career, Ante worked at Vattenfall, one of Europe’s largest utilities, where he was the Head of Commodities Trading.

Ante has a degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University Berlin.

Karthik Selvam

Karthik Selvam

Head of NA Power and Gas

Karthik has over 20 years of trading and management experience in North American Power and Gas markets.

Karthik joined Engelhart from Trafigura where he set up and built the Power desk as Head of North America Power. Before that, he was a Managing Director in the commodity division at Goldman Sachs.

Prior to that he spent over 10 years at Constellation Energy in various leadership roles across structuring, origination, portfolio management and trading. 

Sidney Tordjman

Global Head of Macro Commodities

Sidney joined Engelhart in 2022 as Global Head of Oil.

Prior to his current role, Sidney was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where he led crude and crude derivatives trading.

He spent most of his career trading commodities ranging from energy to pulp and paper facing corporates, funds and governments. At Goldman Sachs, Sidney was instrumental in business automation and spearheading derivatives systematic market making.

Sidney studied Applied Mathematics at Université Paris Dauphine and holds a ‘Grande Ecole’ Masters from ESCP Europe.

Marc Evans

Marc Evans

Chief Operating Officer

Marc joined Engelhart following its acquisition of Trailstone in 2024.  He has over 25 years’ experience in commodities and financial services, predominantly in business management / COO roles delivering change and managing all aspects of the front-to-back operational support of the business. Marc joined Trailstone in 2013 to help set up the company’s operations outside of the US, and took on global COO responsibility in 2018. 

Prior to Trailstone, Marc was the global business manager for J.P. Morgan’s Global Clearing business for futures and options, OTC and securities clearing.  Before that, Marc was a business manager at Deutsche Bank for European power and gas, and physical dry bulk freight.

Marc began his career at UBS Investment Bank and worked there for 10 years in operations, technology, and business management roles in their exchange traded derivatives business, before becoming COO for commodities in Europe and Asia.

Marc holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Imperial College London.

Benjamin Cooper

Ben has over 20 years of experience in the commodities industry. He joined Engelhart in 2013 as Head of Market Risk for Energy and has successfully taken on increasing responsibilities with Engelhart expanding his expertise across commodities and global markets.

Prior to joining Engelhart, Ben held senior risk management rolls at Noble Group, covering US power and gas, as well as EMEA power, gas, and oil desks. Ben has also worked for several US based power and gas retailers.

Ben has an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS in Economics from Lehigh University.

Sevastos Kavanozis

Sevastos Kavanozis

Head of Renewables Sales and Origination

Sevastos joined Engelhart following its acquisition of Trailstone in 2024. He is also a managing director of Gridfuse, now an Engelhart owned Virtual Power Plant (VPP) provider. Sevastos has over 20 years of experience in commodities, predominantly in origination and sales activities, having specialised in the renewables space. 

Sevastos joined Trailstone when it was founded in 2013 and held various roles, initially helping to set-up its Berlin office, growing its power origination activities and then becoming global head of renewables sales and origination. Sevastos was also a managing director of energy2market, a leading European VPP provider in which Trailstone was a shareholder.

Prior to Trailstone, he helped to establish and lead the power origination activities for Deutsche Bank in Central and Eastern Europe. Before that, Sevastos held various roles in Merrill Lynch’s Commodities global legal team.

Sevastos started his career as a lawyer working in Germany and the UK and holds a law degree from the University of Tübingen, Germany.

Felix Buchholz

Head of Renewables Portfolio Management

Felix joined Engelhart following its acquisition of Trailstone in 2024. He is also a managing director of Gridfuse, now an Engelhart owned Virtual Power Plant (VPP) provider. From the beginning of his career 13 years ago, Felix focused on portfolio management and optimisation activities of Renewables – predominantly wind and solar.

Felix joined Trailstone in 2014 and was part of its first short term power trading shift team. In 2016 Felix transitioned into his first leadership role as the Head of Portfolio Management of energy2market, a leading European VPP provider in which Trailstone was a shareholder. Afterwards Felix was the Head of Trading and Optimisation of Entelios, before rejoining Trailstone in 2021 as the Head of Renewables Portfolio Management.

Felix has a degree in industrial engineering and management from the Technical University Berlin.

Charles Ryckeboer

Head of EU Cross Commodities

Charles joined Engelhart in 2023 as Head of EU Power, and since 2024 he has been heading our EU Cross Commodities desk covering EU power, gas, carbon and options.

Prior to Engelhart, Charles was working on the utilities side: he started in the commodities trading industry 15 years ago at EDF Trading, and joined BKW in 2017 as an energy trader. His career brought him from power analytics to short term power trading, to trading the curve for power and finally the broader EU energy complex. 

Charles studied Engineering and Finance from Imperial College and CentraleSupelec.

Djordje Radojicic

Djordje Radojicic

Head of EU physical Gas

Djordje joined Engelhart in 2021 as a senior EU Gas Trader, focusing on cross commodity trading and leading the development of the gas analytics platform. Since 2006, he has held front-office roles in gas portfolio management and trading, overseeing high-value portfolios at Enel, E.ON, and Uniper.

Before Engelhart, Djordje played a key leadership role at E.ON and Uniper, where he led a team of senior portfolio managers. He balanced discretionary and asset-based trading strategies while overseeing one of the market’s largest gas portfolios of supply contracts, storages, cross-border capacities, and downstream sales. 

Djordje holds a MSc in major programme management from the University of Oxford and a BA in business administration from John Cabot University. He is also a Certified Market Technician (CMT), specialising in technical analysis.

Fergus Garvin

Head of Freight Trading

Fergus Joined BTG Commodities in 2013 and has been leading the Freight business since 2015 where he has helped build and lead one of the most successful dry freight businesses of its type in the market.

Previously at Cargill, Fergus has 20 years of experience in the shipping industry both in the physical side of the business and as a risk manager. 

Bertrand Bosc

Global Head of Agriculture

Bertrand has over 30 years of agriculture commodities trading experience, mostly focused on soft commodities, and sugar in particular.

He started his career with Kingsman Brokerage Group before moving on to participate in the launch of the sugar division of the Tradigrain Group in early 2000 which quickly led the group to being one of the top 5 traders in the industry.

Bertrand was part of the team that started a brand-new trading entity in a JV with Macquarie Group in 2003, called Intrade Risk Management.

Prior to joining Engelhart in 2014, he opened and managed the first international subsidiary of the Lansing Trade Group LLC in Geneva.

Paul Nelson

Head of NA Origination and Environmental Products Trading

Paul joined Engelhart in 2024 and leads the firm’s North American Environmental products trading business and its growing Origination group that serves the needs of producers and end users in power, natural gas, and environmental markets.

Paul has 20 years of experience in front-office leadership positions at Axpo, DRW Trading, Boston Energy Trading and Marketing, and Constellation Energy where he led teams focused on trading, portfolio management, and origination of complex risks in North American energy markets. 

Paul has degrees from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and the University of Massachusetts.  

Sarah Kenyon

Global Head of Carbon Trading

Sarah joined Trailstone in 2022 as Global Head of Carbon Trading.

Sarah began her career in commodities at Deutsche Bank on the hedge fund sales desk before moving to manage the crude oil book out of New York.  Subsequently, she joined Noble Group in Stamford where she traded crude oil and products.  Sarah transitioned into the environmental space in 2021 at STX Group before joining Trailstone. At Engelhart, Sarah manages a team covering global compliance carbon markets, low carbon fuels, and European environmental certificates.

Sarah studied economics at Johns Hopkins University where she played lacrosse and continues to mentor aspiring traders. 

Asif Noor

Head of Systematic Trading

Asif joined Engelhart in 2025 as our head of systematic trading and brings two decades of experience across both futures and OTC markets. Before joining Engelhart, he played a pivotal role at Aspect Capital, a $9bn CTA based in London, where he established and managed the systematic global macro and FX overlay business. He later led a high-performing multi-strategy team overseeing assets of more than $2bn.

In 2004 Asif co-founded Auriel Capital, a London-based systematic global macro hedge fund. Auriel was dedicated to providing institutional investors with diversified, risk-controlled return streams, and was eventually acquired by Aspect Capital.

Asif has an exceptional track record in alpha generation, quantitative strategies, and portfolio construction. He holds a degree in economics from Bard College and is a CFA charter holder.

Val Angelkov

Head of Principal Investments

Val joined Engelhart in 2025 as Head of Principal Investments. Val has spent most of his career in the US power and gas industry serving in various commercial roles across commodity trading, independent power producers and private equity.

Prior to his current role, Val was a Managing Director on the US investment team at Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners where he led investments in renewables, batteries and data centre energy infrastructure. At Quinbrook, Val started Rowan Digital Infrastructure, a data centre development company responsible for c.$3bn of capital deployment.

Val spent the first decade of his career at Constellation Energy’s trading floor holding various origination roles, before transitioning to asset development and transactional M&A roles.

Val studied energy trading and finance at the University of Texas at Austin where he received his MBA. Val holds a BA in Applied Economics from the American University.

Diogo Novaes

Head of Technology

Diogo is a technologist with almost 25 years of experience, primarily in the financial industry.

He has been with Engelhart since its inception in 2013, initially leading the implementation of the technology landscape for oil, power and gas. As the company evolved, so did his expertise and responsibilities, expanding across other commodity types. This progression culminated in him being appointed to lead Engelhart’s technology team globally in 2019.

Before joining Engelhart, Diogo built his career in the banking sector at BTG Pactual, where he developed and managed technology solutions for various divisions, including trading, equities, asset management, wealth management, and treasury.

Prior to his journey in the fintech space, he also worked at software development companies such as Unisys and Marlin, developing code for e-commerce platforms, government applications, and other sectors.

Pedro Caldas

Global Head of Treasury

Pedro Caldas joined Engelhart in 2014 and has since held various leadership roles across Treasury, Product Control, Project Management, and Risk.

Before joining Engelhart, he worked in asset management at BTG Pactual, Banco do Brasil, and CGD Bank. With a background in commodities trading, Pedro has covered a broad spectrum of physical and financial products, including power, gas, oil, metals, and agriculture.

At Engelhart, he has played a key role in implementing strategic initiatives, driving the build out and expansion of multiple business lines, and overseeing the firm’s capital and liquidity management.

Pedro holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), a Master’s in Commodities Trading from the University of Geneva, and an Executive MBA in Finance from HEC Paris.

Babak Pooya

General Counsel

Babak has over 20 years’ experience with leading global banks and trading companies including Sempra Energy Trading, RBS, and Société Générale. As General Counsel to Engelhart, he has a broad remit covering legal, compliance and risk management across physical and financial commodities.

Babak holds a JD from Boston University School of Law, an MBA from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, and a BA from Franklin and Marshall College.

Jun Cheng

Head of Financial Control

Jun joined Engelhart in 2014 and is responsible for overseeing the group’s financial control function.

With over 20 years of experience in finance, Jun previously worked at PwC, Deloitte, and Bunge, where she gained extensive expertise in finance and auditing.

She holds a Master’s degree in Economics, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Ed Orlebar

Edward Orlebar

Head of Business Development

Ed joined Engelhart in 2020 and has over 20 years of commodities business development and leadership experience. After managing the Engelhart infrastructure agenda as COO, Ed transitioned to business development in 2023 to help drive the firm’s growth agenda.  

Prior to Engelhart Ed spent 10 years at Barclays Capital Commodities before moving into the hedge fund and private equity sectors in 2015 where he held various COO, CFO and Chief of Staff roles at the Cumulus Fund, City Financial and InfraRed Capital Partners.

Ed is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA), having started his career in tax at Arthur Andersen.

Ed studied geography at the University of Oxford where he focused his studies on his long term interest in meteorology.

Milos Krkic

Global Head of Quant Research and Weather

Milos joined Engelhart in 2021 as Global Head of Quantitative Research.

Prior to his current role, Milos was Global Head of the Data Strategists team at BP where he led a team of quantitative researchers with a focus on developing trading strategies with the oil, gas and power trading teams. Milos has also worked on derivatives pricing related problems, including tolling, storage, load serving deals and various exotic derivatives structures like compound options during his time at both BP and Goldman Sachs.

Milos hold a PhD degree in Financial Mathematics from Imperial College London, MSC in Electronics applied to Medicine from Imperial College London and BSc in Electronics & Electrical from UCL.

Paul Marcon

Head of NA West Trading

Paul joined Engelhart in 2013 and has been a key figure in the buildout of our North American Power and Gas business.  He is currently leading the West Power and Gas desk and its expansion into physical activities. 

Prior to Engelhart he was instrumental in developing the strategic edge in multiple successful energy trading businesses including at Noble and at Sempra.  

John Massey

Head of Cross Commodity Trading, NA

John joined Englehart in 2013 focusing primarily on trading oil, natural gas, coal and emissions credits. He has 25 years of trading experience across energy companies, large banks and hedge funds. 

John has a BA from Cox School of Business (SMU) and MBA from McCombs School of Business (UT).

In terms of Engelhart specifically, there is a strong entrepreneurial spirit here. Management is really pushing us to explore new business opportunities, and we are not afraid to fail before reaching success. There is this constant ambition to do better and more and I’m really excited to see what the future brings.
